Zanzibar archipelago, located in the Indian Ocean, 40 km off the coast of Tanzania, is a true destination to escape from the world. Here you have the chance to enjoy the clear, turquoise blue water, long sandy beaches, many small, nearly deserted islands with unique nature, still undiscovered by tourists. What is worth investigating is Stone Town, declared a Cultural Heritage Site, where you can feel the smells of the bazaar, narrow streets and the real magic of Tanzania.
And along the coast, village life takes place in the traditional way, where fishing boats are sailing with the tide and women are gathering seaweed from the white coral sand.
Bait for adventurers
This destination is still insufficiently explored and known for the many tourists in the world, yet it is a bait for adventurers ready for a different experience. To explore Zanzibar, to dive into the incredible blue ocean, to be immersed in water depths to explore the untouched islands, to talk with locals, always ready to “bargain” with the tourists to sell handmade souvenirs, to taste the fresh mango and Indian nuts, coffee from Kilimanjaro, or to explore the vast fields with vanilla – is a challenge that is worth experiencing.
But let’s start from the beginning. How to get to Zanzibar is probably the first question that is getting on your mind. Although it sounds like an impossible mission, you can arrive in Zanzibar either by holidays packages offered by the agencies, but also on your own. If you buy a flight ticket on time, it can cost you less than 500 euros.
Before you leave, I believe you will “dive” into all the magical images on Internet that reflect this water paradise. Incredible idyll will splash you from the each page on which you request information on Zanzibar. But the idyll starts the moment you arrive in luxury resorts, whose owners are mostly Italians and where peace and tranquility found primarily guests from Italy and Germany. But the path to the line is a real adventure and challenge – starting from “safari airport” where everything is improvisation, to the vast deserted areas of small villages with mud huts and “jungles”, where you will start wondering and asking yourself where you are going.
The moment you first feel the wonderful sand under the feet of paradise beaches, when you sink into the turquoise water, and the only starry sky is your only companion on warm nights – you’ve got the answer – where are you and where would you like to go back.
One of the most beautiful resorts is the Royal Zanzibar beach. The most beautiful beach is Ningwi beach, kilometer long beach with white sand, which acts unreal … One of the most interesting tours is diving on the island Membwa which is private and overnight cost $ 1,300 per night.
What makes Zanzibar is a unique coral beach of sand that never heats up so much of the sun that you can not wander around in them. Locals are Masai tribe – warriors and always armed.
Beyond Resort is not recommended movement at night, because it is not safe. But the beaches are the safest area – constantly guarded by police.
The most beautiful time to visit Tanzania is from July to August when temperatures are around 30 degrees. In April avoid this destination because of heavy rains.
